What is Digital Signage?
Digital Signage is the NarrowCasting of specific information and media to a consumer. Unlike a display with a PowerPoint presentation or a looping DVD, the NarrowCast will display information and media which is scheduled and/or drawn live from current content and data. This allows content to be dynamically presented to the consumer at the:
- Point of Inquiry
- Point of Decision
- Point of Purchase
- Point of Consumption
Content can be specific for any consumer including employees and customers.
- It can be entertaining and communicate.
- It can be timely and effect behavior.
- It can be insightful and inspire.
- Point of Consumption
Maximize the information you are presenting on your display system.
Think about how you absorb information given to you in the news today, or when you are watching your favorite sports on TV. You are not just receiving audio and video,
but you are simultaneously receiving streaming news, financial statistics and quotes, sports scores, and advertising. Whether you are interested in the programming or not,
there is something being streamed to you on the screen that captures your attention and interest.
Studies confirm that what you see, read and hear is absorbed and retained significantly much more effectively than any form of these communications individually. The same tools can be applied in your displays. At the same time you have a digitally tuned television channel being presented, you may also present news and information about your business, advertising clips and animations promoting your new products and services, and have live local or world news, or just about anything you want to present. The same application can be placed in your employee lounge or break room and broadcast HR information, company news, and employee recognitions displayed while your employees enjoy their favorite television.
